SOLD OUT: 1,000-HP Hellephant V8

We’re sorry to deliver bad news to you on this fine Tuesday, but we must. According to Allpar, Mopar’s new 1,000 hp, 426 cubic-inch Hellephant Hemi V8 crate engine is officially sold out. And get this, sales started just last week. “Given the high demand and the hand-built, time-intensive build process, we have closed preordering the 426 Hellephant Supercharged HEMI crate engine. Based on preorders, the engine sold out in just two days,” the company said. “Customers can visit www.cratehemi.com to receive future information and updates on the “Hellephant” engine.”

Don’t get too discouraged, though. Even though only 100 examples have been built for now, the company will evaluate overall demand and make a decision about producing additional units. We’ll keep you posted.
