This Ford Mach 40 Took 11,000 Hours To Build

What happens when you combine a classic muscle car and a modern supercar? Only good things. Restoration shop Eckert’s Rod & Custom spent three years building this masterpiece that combines a vintage Mustang and a first-generation GT. The result? The Mach 40, and it’s pretty badass.

Some noteworthy specs:

  • The car is based on a beaten-up 1969 Mustang Mach 1
  • A new extended chassis accommodates a 5.4-liter supercharged V8 from a 2006 Ford GT
  • A clamshell rear deck was created with a new suspension set up
  • Updated cooling system
  • Retro-inspired interior design
  • Total hp of 850

This project may have taken 11,000 hours to complete, but we’re sure glad the team at Eckert’s Rod and Custom took this project on. See the insane mid-engine concept car, right here. Enjoy.
