The 1966 Oldsmobile Toronado: Full of Bold Ideas
From the moment it rolled off the production line, the Toronado brought a breath of fresh air to Oldsmobile. This was the most radical car in the company’s 68-year history of innovation and that led to plenty of recognition – like the title of 1966 Car of the Year from Motor Trend. Like any Oldsmobile, the Toronado is all about the engineering. Standing 52.8 inches tall, this car came equipped with a 425-cubic-inch, 90-degree V-8 engine.
