Factory Finds: Fordite Rocks
These aren’t your typical rocks – they tell stories. Stories of a car evolving from a hunk of metal to a beautiful finished product, painted with care by hand. Before car factories were fully automated, painting was a messy process with a lot of paint runoff. While the cars were drying so would the extra paint and as a result we got rock-solid paint. These “stones” were named for the places they were formed and just like that, “Fordite” was born. Check them out, right here:
