#P1046: Legend of Le Mans
This is the Ford GT40 Mk. II chassis number P1046 but you may know it as the Le Mans winner of 1966. It’s a ride that surpasses the Ferrari and back in the day, was part of a one-two-three finish for Blue Oval. After hitting the 1966 Le Mans winners circle, this Ford became a transmission test mule, and saw untold modifications over the years. Enter present day and the team at Rare Drive, East Kingston, New Hampshire has restored the aesthetic integrity as well as the history of a legendary ride. To commemorate the restoration of P1046, RK Motors is putting together a series of videos. Here in part one, entitled “#P1046: The Legend of Le Mans,” RK goes heavy on the history. It’s not one to be missed. Enjoy:
