Before it even hit the auction block, this Plymouth ‘Cuda was expected to rake in some serious cash – but how serious are we talking? Try 3.5 million dollars. According to Motor Authority, that is the highest price ever achieved for one of Detroit’s “Golden Age” muscle cars. When the rare ’71 model rolled onto the Mecum floor jaws dropped and expectations rose. Expectations were especially high from the ‘Cuda’s owner, who wouldn’t budge for less than a record setting price. He got what he wanted, and the new owner got an iconic “Bright Blue” convertible with all the bells and whistles.
