Future Classics: The Ferrari 458 Speciale Aperta
Look no further Ferrari enthusiasts – the 458 Speciale Aperta has arrived. It’s harder, quicker and more aggressive than the 458s of the past and it’s possibly the best and final. Just 499 are being made, available only to Ferrari ‘collectors.’ Sad for most of us, great for them. If you’re one of the lucky ones, you’ll hit 62mph in 3.0 seconds and 124mph in just 9.5. The 4.5-litre flat-crank V8 is naturally aspirated and chucks out 597bhp. Collectors (or borrowers) will experience the 9000rpm, with 398lb ft. of torque all the way up at 6000. In other words, it is the driver’s duty to rev that engine.
