America’s Most Radical Truck
We guarantee you haven’t see a truck like this before. Rolling into the garage today is a 1961 Chevrolet Corvair Rampside. This truck is somethin’ else. Independent suspension? Air-cooled? Engine in the back? Check it out, right here.

Marketing folks, from the dealerships to the automotive manufacturing HQ staff, have always been the enemies of simplicity and innovation. The marketing folks never liked the Corvair and contributed to its demise. In a completely different sphere, the marketing folks at Porsche, from Stuttgart to the dealer’s showroom, disdained the innovative and simple 914, causing its demise. To paraphrase an old canard, “simple cars spell small profits.” That’s the downside at Detroit and Stuttgart.
