Armored AWD Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Police Vehicle
This might just be the most bad ass police car we’ve ever seen. We can imagine the Ford Explorer Interceptor is shaking in its boots. Armormax, a Utah-based armored car shop is responsible for this monster, the Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat. And thanks to Carscoops and the good people over at Motor Authority, we have the whole scoop.
The Charger SRT Hellcat offers a few different levels of armored protection, based on the customer’s wants/needs. But, the greatest option available to buyers has to be the all-wheel-drive. Fiat-Chrysler has never offered AWD for its Hellcat models, so this is very interesting. Armormax can hook it up with AWD during it’s in-house conversion process. Customers can simply opt-in and the shop will make sure the 707 horsepower is sent to all four wheels. Of course, the company installs police-spec lighting, ballistic armored glass, a push bar, and run-flat tires. The Hellcat’s battery, radiator, fuel tank, and ECU are also protected. It’s unknown how much weight the bulletproofing adds to the car, but we’re confident the 6.2-liter supercharged V-8 engine will be able to handle it. Pricing is based on case-by-case basis, but we wouldn’t be shocked to find out the wheels will go for $100,000, especially with the AWD option.
