Barn Find: The $1 Million Dollar Shelby Cobra
When it comes to this classic ’64 Cobra, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Despite its less-than-perfect condition, this 289 sold at auction for just under $1 million. In its prime, this Cobra’s exterior was a “Rouge Iris” color until it was eventually painted black. This ride has retained almost all of the small and extremely hard-to-find detail items that are usually replaced during restoration plus the interior remains unrestored along with an undisturbed engine bay. The original owner may not have invested in upkeep, but that 40 years of storage really paid off. We’d still take this Shelby over the money any day.
