The best sound is compression ignition. That’s right, combustion without an externally induced spark. The purity of the melody is staggering. Of course mechanical fuel injection and the complete absence of electronic shenanigans makes for the clarity of sonic definition of a harpsichord. So the answer is a 1965 Mercedes-Benz 190Dc… the absolute best sound: an ancient Diesel!
