Disaster Strikes Colorado Classics
Let’s raise a glass to another classic car collection gone too soon. Disaster struck in Weld County, Colorado this week when a large storage building that houses dozens of classic cars caught fire. According to the owner, about 70 vehicles were damaged or destroyed. Leonard Johnson owned more than half of the cars has been working on this collection for about 32 years. Johnson said most of the cars lost were vintage Cadillacs and the most expensive loss was a 1958 Facel Vega worth about $275,000. Despite the hardship, Johnson plans to build up his collection again.
