Head to Head to Head: Shelby GT500 vs. BMW M8 vs. Polestar 1
On the docket today we have three modern muscle cars, lined up and ready to face off. The BMW M8 Competition, the Ford Mustang Shelby GT500, and the Polestar 1 are headed to the drag to take on the quarter-mile. These cars are different in their own way, sure, but on paper they’re more evenly matched than you might think. The Shelby is the most powerful, with 760 horsepower and 625 pound-feet of torque from its supercharged 5.2-liter V8 engine. The BMW M8 Competition churns out 617hp and 553 lb-ft from its twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8. And the Polestar 1 produces 619hp and a whopping 737 lb-ft from the coupe’s hybridized, supercharged, and turbocharged 2.0 liter four-cylinder engine. Speaking of engines, these three start theirs up at 3:31 in the video below, and you won’t want to miss it. Enjoy.
