Jay Leno’s 1950 Plymouth Is For Sale.. And It’s For A Good Cause
This episode of Jay Leno’s Garage featured a vehicle very close to home for Jay. The 1950 Plymouth Business Coupe in this episode was built by one of Leno’s late mechanics. Bob Sales has been battling cancer for many years, but used his spare time to build the Coupe in Jay’s Garage. Unfortunately, Sales passed away from cancer not too long after finishing the car. As a final tribute to his friend, Jay is selling Sales’ labor of love to benefit his wife and children left behind.
Interested buyers can email BobSalesCar@gmail.com and make an offer. Leno hasn’t set a price and plans to take the best offer to support the Sales family. He mentions in the video below that Sales wanted the car to go a good home, so that will likely play a role in the process.
The car is a great street rod even without its unique ancestry (see what we did there?). It features a proven powertrain combination of a Chevrolet small-block V8, a 700R4 automatic transmission, and a Ford 9-inch rear end. Even if you’re not in the market for this ride, this is a must-see episode of Leno’s Garage. As per usual, it’s an opportunity to see a cool car, but also to learn about the people who work under the hood in Leno’s garage – and how much they mean to him. Enjoy.
