Fastest in the World: The Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport
The Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport is arguably the world’s most exotic car. Priced at $1.3 million and faster than a Formula One car, it’s hard to believe that it’s street-legal. This Bugatti holds a 16-cylinder engine with 4 turbochargers that produce 1,001 horsepower. 10 radiators handle the heat as opposed to ordinary cars, which only need 1. A special key is required to “unlock” the top speed of 250+ mph. The car is then lowered to just 3.5 inches from the pavement. A hydraulic spoiler extends, and it can also serve as an air brake. Take a look at how fast the Veyron can fly:
- 60 mph in 2.5 seconds
- 100 mph in 5.5 seconds
- 150 mph in 9.8 seconds
- 200 mph in 18.3 seconds
- 250 mph in 42.3 seconds
With incredible speed and a price tag to match, this supercar defines excess. Explore the history and development behind the Veyron here:
