SPOTTED: Mid-Engined C8 Corvette and C7 ZR1 Go For a Test Drive
Although it is not officially confirmed, the mid-engined C8 Corvette is very much real, and could possibly debut this January at Detroit. Until its inevitable debut, we’ll have to make due with spy footage. Thanks to CorvetteBlogger and YouTube channel Coloradocarsdogsanddrones, the video below shows a C8 testing alongside the current C7 ZR1 in Colorado.
The C8 prototype is heavily camouflaged, but we can tell that the engine has been moved to the middle of the vehicle. It’s also interesting (and exciting) that they chose to test alongside the most powerful Corvette available today. The Corvette ZR1 has more than 750 hp in its arsenal and is a nasty supercar.
All other details are just rumors at this point (i.e there will be three engine options – a 6.2-liter V8 with 460 hp, a twin-turbo 4.2-liter V8 with 650 hp, and finally the 5.5-liter V8 with 850 hp). We can confirm none of the above, let alone the actual existence of the car. So for now, sit tight. You know the drill, we’ll keep you updated.
