The 2019 Dodge Viper Is Coming
Since the Dodge Viper was put to rest last year, we’ve been missing the legendary American sports car. But we come bearing good news. Car and Driver recently reported that the car will return from the dead in 2020, marking the Viper’s 30th anniversary. The next-gen Viper will hold onto the old car’s signature shape but feature tons of aluminum and carbon fiber. A roadster will launch in late 2020, and a coupe will follow a few years after.
Nothing is set in stone yet regarding what will live under the hood. The original Viper utilized an 8.0-liter V10 engine by Lamborghini for the RAM pickup. But according to the publication, this will be replaced with a naturally aspirated V8 packing 550 horsepower. Keep an eye out for the Dodge Viper’s debut at the 2019 North American Auto Show in Detroit in January of next year. We’ll keep you updated with deets as it gets closer.
