The Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 Will Have Quite The Price Tag
The 2020 Mustang Shelby GT500 is one of the most anticipated performance cars of the year. And sure, if the car delivers supercar power, it makes sense that it would carry a supercar price tag. The 760 horsepower muscle car will arrive with a base price of $73,995. Now that may not seem unreasonable, but compared to its rivals; the Chevy Camaro ZL1 and Dodge Challenger Hellcat Redeye, it’s a pretty substantial difference. We should note, though, that the GT500 dominates the 0-60 mph in just 3.5 seconds and can go 0-100-0 in just 10.6.
The first GT500 of its kind was auctioned off by Ford, and ultimately benefited JDRF, a global charity that funds Type 1 diabetes research for children. The car sold for $1.1 million, and Ford has plans to auction off another vehicle to benefit JDRF. More to come on the supercar price tag on the Shelby GT500 and if there will be a long standing place in the market for a car like this.
