The Most Expensive Mustang In The World Sells for $3.85 Million
The 1965 Shelby GT350R prototype sold at Mecum Indy 2020 for a staggering $3.85 million. The car is now officially the most valuable Mustang in history, beating out the previous title-holder, the 1968 Mustang GT390 ‘Bullitt’. The car is known as the “Flying Mustang,” and is arguably the most historically significant Mustang in the world. It is the first Shelby GT350R ever built, the first Shelby Mustang competition car, and the first Shelby Mustang to win a race when it debuted at Green Valley Raceway in 1965.
