1,100-HP Camaro ZL1 Destroys The Dodge Demon On The Strip
Dodge has definitely not been shy when bragging about the coveted Challenger SRT Demon. Topics at the top of conversation include its ability to dominate the drag strip and crush the quarter mile run in 9.65 seconds at 140 mph. Some tuning shops set numbers like these as performance benchmarks, and give themselves a real challenge. In this instance, that tuning shop is Vengeance Racing. Remember that 1,000-hp Chevrolet Camaro ZR1 we reported about? Vengeance Racing has dubbed the car the VR1100, and they’ve taken it to the track to face the Demon.
And it delivered. The 1,100-hp Camaro ZL1 ran the quarter mile in 9.58 seconds at 152.97 mph using factory 20-inch wheels fitted with Mickey Thompson Drag Radials. Yes, you read that right. It defeated the Dodge Demon. Not by a ton, but it still counts. If you think we’re lying, see for yourself:
