50th Anniversary Ford Mustang Cobra Jet Just Rolled Into SEMA
50 years ago, Ford built the first ever Mustang Cobra Jet. And to celebrate the anniversary, the blue oval has brought a very special version to the SEMA show this year. Over the years, Ford has brought numerous versions to the automotive table. Noteworthy models include the 2008 factory build Cobra capable of an 8 second quarter-mile, and an updated version that lasted through 2016. And now, we have the 2018 model.
Under the hood is a 5.2-liter supercharged V-8 that makes the car do an 8.0-second quarter-mile. Oh, and during that run, the Jet will reach 150 mph. We think it’s important to mention this car is not street-legal. This fully prepped drag racer is fit with an NHRA-certified roll cage, FIA-rated seats, and a 9-inch solid rear axel. Interested in one for yourself? You’ll have to act fast. Ford is only making 68 examples. Oh, and it’ll cost you a pretty penny, ($130,000 to be exact). Check it out, right here.
