The Dodge Demon Sheds Some Weight For Speed
The Dodge Demon is now more than 200 pounds lighter than a Hellcat, and has a sole purpose of traveling a quarter-mile quicker than any of its rivals. The upcoming Demon is, simply put, the more pedestrian Hellcats hopped-up sibling. The weekly video rollout on www.ifyouknowyouknow.com continues with the latest sneak peak, “Reduction.”
There were rumors circling that the Demon would pack an insane all-wheel-drive system, but Dodge and SRT seems to be going a simpler route. The press release reveals the Demon is 200 pounds lighter than the standard Hellcat. It’s unclear where that weight is coming from, but frankly we don’t care. The video above suggests adjustments to the wheels, steering, suspension, and brakes, as well as some interior modifications. Under the hood? You have a 2.4-liter supercharger and a 6.2-liter Hemi V8 working in perfect harmony. What’s not to love?
