Celebration of Going Slow: The World’s Oldest Car Event

They’re a minimum of 111 years old and they’re taking the streets of London (to Brighton) for the oddest “race” around. The name of the game? Predict your speed. The driver with the closest guess wins. Last year’s winning estimate was made by a 1900 Georges Richard owner, with the average speed guess of 10 miles per hour being almost bang on. The car’s actual average speed was 9.99 miles per hour. Taking place over a 60-mile course, this is one of the greatest “time trials” in the world.
