Hennessey Performance: The 2018 Ford GT Heritage Edition
Hennessey Performance has a long standing reputation of making fast cars even faster. John Hennessey, the owner and founder of the American tuning house has a laundry list of accomplishments and noteworthy projects he has directed. From unique modifications like those in the upcoming production of the Venom F5, to dozens of performance kits for more common sports cars like Mustangs, Camaros, and Challengers. Knowing all of this, it comes as no surprise that Hennessey was chosen to own one of the new 2018 GT supercars.
As you could’ve guessed, this isn’t your standard Ford GT. This is a Heritage Edition model. Which means Hennessey is planning to take an already rare car, and make it even more extraordinary. This particular example is a nod to Ford’s 1967 Le Mans victory.
What we know for sure is that this GT has a low build number, meaning it is almost guaranteed to increase in value in the years to come. What we don’t know is if Hennessey will dare mess with the GT’s twin-turbo 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6. Why fix something that is already great? We won’t count it out, though. We’ll keep you posted on the next crazy thing Hennessey brings to the table.
