Leno Takes A Trip Through Time In A 1927 Ford Model T
With nearly 15 million manufactured, the Ford Model T is easily one of the most iconic automobiles in the world. After World War II, these lightweight hot rods were plentiful, cheap, and wildly popular. Many hot rodders today would’ve built this classic up with a large V8, but not the man featured in this episode of Jay Leno’s Garage. He took a more classic route, and restored his Model T back to factory status.
Clayton Paddison picked up his 1927 Model T for just $800. It was a rough shell when he got it, but since then he has slowly restored it himself. His plan was to build a budget hot rod someone in the 1930s would’ve built. This ride still has a Model T four-cylinder, but now features a high-compression cylinder head, Model A exhaust manifold and an intake with dual carburetors. The original two-speed planetary gearbox has been replaced with a three-speed transmission.
