My assessment of the merits of an automobile is less influenced by external aesthetics than by internal mechanics and how that translates into performance. First I require 3 pedals on the floor in order to provide the driver with optimal control, engagement and fun. Second I look to the suspension in order to determine how well the car can corner and take on the twisty bits. Finally, I look for an engine with enough power to get the job done, but with light weight for ideal balance and relative economy of operation. So what’s the inside story behind the pretty face illustrated above?
