Sales Trends: Dodge Challenger vs. Chevy Camaro

Historically, the Challenger outsells the Camaro by a decent amount. And while that’s still the case, the gap is narrowing. The Detroit Free Press reported the following stats for the top selling muscle cars in the industry:

1. Ford Mustang – 16,917
2. Dodge Challenger – 13,431
3. Chevrolet Camaro – 12,083

The figures you see above represent total sales from January through March of this year. But, new developments show that the Camaro might just be gunning for that second spot. Compared to the same period last year, Challenger sales are down approximately 24 percent. And on the other hand there’s the Camaro, who is up 3 percent since last year. And sure, the Mustang may remain in the top spot with most of the market share, but sales are down for the Blue Oval in the first three months of 2019.
