The Hennessey Venom F5 Has Over 1,800-HP
The Venom F5 from Hennessey Performance has been in the works for some time now. To give you a little perspective, it’s been almost 2 years since the 300-mph prototype was revealed. But now, Hennessey is ready to confirm how much power the car will produce – 1,817 horsepower at 8,000 rpm and 1,193 lb-ft of torque at 5,500 rpm. That power is thanks to a 6.6-liter V8 engine Hennessey has branded “Fury”. The engine combines high-tech, lightweight components with a pair of Precision ball bearing twin turbochargers and 3D printed titanium compressor housings.
Hennessey Performance founder and CEO, John Hennessey said: “We exceeded our target horsepower number. Actually, we blew our target number out of the water by delivering over 1,800 horsepower,” “The F5 engine has a very broad power band with over 1,000 lb-ft of torque available from 2,000 to 8,000 rpm. Give it the full throttle and it’s the most furious engine that we have ever built. Thus, we gave our F5 engine a special name: ‘Fury.'” Check out the video below for a first look at the Venom F5 on the Dyno. Enjoy.
