The Matra Djet: French, In The Best Way

The Djet (pronounced “Jet”) was born in 1962. When the French company Matra diversified into the automobile industry in 1965, it acquired René Bonnet – the car’s original producer. Matra continued production of the Djet sports car and drivers loved its style. The Matra Djet is one of the first mid-engine road cars though most ended up on the racetrack. And best of all?  Yuri Gagarin drove one.
