Twin-Turbo C8 Corvette Crushes The Quarter-Mile Record

The standard version of the C8 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray is equipped with a 6.2-liter V8 engine producing 495 horsepower and has proved itself to be a phenomenally quick sports car. To be specific, this version previously completed the quarter-mile in under 11 seconds. So, what happens to that figure when you strap two turbos to the V8 along with some other modifications like Mickey Thompson tires? The crazy (but amazing) people from EmeliaHartford YouTube channel had a goal to break the existing record of 9.95 for the quarter-mile at the Famoso Raceway in Bakersfield, California.

It took a couple of runs and a few different racing fuels before this 1,000-hp Corvette broke the record, crushing the quarter-mile in 9.9 seconds. Emelia Hartford wanted more, though, with the best run of the day: 9.41 seconds at 144.84 mph, easily taking the new record. If you want to get right to the action, scroll ahead to the 10-minute mark. Enjoy.
