The 2017 Ford Explorer – Why Even Bother With A BMW X5?

The 2017 Ford Explorer Sport is nothing short of a premium vehicle. This all-wheel drive crossover can handle some seriously rough road conditions. For starters, its powered by the new 3.5 liter twin-turbo V6 EcoBoost with a total of 395 hp and 350 lb-ft of torque and is paired to a six-speed automatic.

Today’s explorer wasn’t always top of its class. In fact, in 1991 it was a three-door. But then again, that was when Ford needed to introduce a replacement for the retired Bronco II. The Explorer has come a long way since it was built on a body-on-frame chassis, and was essentially a Ranger truck, and we have to say .. we’re more impressed than ever.
