New Mustang GT Will Do 0-60 In Under 4 Seconds
At last, Ford has announced the revamped Ford Mustang GT’s straight line stats. It might not be the long awaited Dodge Challenger SRT Demon, but Ford hardly cares about supercars like that. They’re more concerned with holding the title of the world’s best-selling sports car. In addition to getting a full facelift, the refreshed ‘Stang will lose its underwhelming V6 and sees its 5.0-liter Coyote V8 gain 25 horsepower and 20 lb-ft of torque. It will also swap out the old six-speed automatic gearbox for Ford’s new 10-speed automatic.
Ford has also given the new Mustang a Drag Strip mode. We like the sound of that. Available with the Performance Pack will be Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S tires, to make the car halt before the 4.0-second mark. To put this in perspective, Ford released this video of all sorts of things you can do in under 4 seconds. Enjoy.
