Pair of Dodge Demons Sold at Auction

Don’t you just love when you see the Demon in a headline? We sure do. So what do we know about the Dodge Demon. It’s an 840-horsepower drag-strip monster with a 6.2-liter supercharged V-8 capable of going 0-60 in just 2.3 seconds. The power alone puts the Demon at the top of our muscle car list. The suggested retail price of a 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon is $86,090. Sure, you might think that’s a ton of cash for a Dodge, but considering the specs, and the fact that there were just 3,300 examples made, it’s a pretty sweet deal. But, with the inevitable markups from dealers and sellers, you probably won’t find a Demon for less than $100,000.

Earlier this month, auction house Mecum sold 2 of the 3,300 models in Louisville, Kentucky. But surprisingly, they didn’t sell for an outrageous amount. A factory fresh black Demon went for $123,750, and a red Demon had a final bid of $132,000. Sure, thats $40,000 and $50,000 over the original price, but considering some dealers marked up the car by $175,000, we were surprised by these figures.
